Everything parents and adult swimmers ask before booking — ages, cost, where lessons run, what to bring, and what happens next.

Getting started
Double Time Swim Club teaches swimmers aged 5 and up. From five, most children can follow instruction, hold a focus for a full lesson and retain a correction from one week to the next, which is what makes real progress possible rather than just water play.
See Learn to Swim →Yes. Your first lesson at Double Time Swim Club is a full coached session at no charge — the coach assesses the swimmer in the water, tells you where they are, and recommends the right program. There is no card required to book it and no obligation to continue afterwards. One free first lesson per new swimmer, on group lessons — private one-to-one hours are charged from the first session.
Book a free lesson →That is normal and it is not a problem. The first time in the water is an assessment: the coach looks at comfort, breathing, body position and stroke, then recommends the right program. You do not need to self-diagnose before getting in touch.
Start booking →Arrive a few minutes early so the swimmer is changed and ready on the pool deck at the start time. The first session is used to establish the swimmer's actual level, so expect some easy swimming and a lot of watching from the coach. You will leave knowing what the swimmer is working on next.
A swimsuit, a towel, goggles that fit, and a swim cap for swimmers with longer hair. Flip-flops for the deck are useful. Anything else specific to the venue is covered in the Club Policy.

Programs & levels
Yes. Adults are coached across every level — complete beginners who never learned as children, swimmers returning after years away, masters swimmers chasing times, and triathletes who need an efficient freestyle. Adult coaching is weighted toward technique and efficiency rather than drills designed for children.
See Adult & Masters →Yes. The Pre-Competitive program covers all four strokes swum legally, starts, turns, finishes, pace-clock work and race preparation. It suits swimmers heading for a first meet, preparing for a club tryout, or already racing and stuck at a time.
See Pre-Competitive →Once a week keeps a swimmer moving forward steadily. Twice a week is the point at which technical corrections start to hold between sessions instead of resetting, and it is what most swimmers working on stroke changes should aim for. Three times a week suits swimmers training toward competition or working to a deadline.
