Coaching built for adults.
There is no age at which it becomes too late to learn to swim properly. The obstacle is almost never ability — it is that most adult swimming provision in Toronto is either a lane to share with no coaching in it, or a class designed around children.
Double Time Swim Club coaches adults as adults: you are told why a correction works, not just told to make it.
If you never learned
Adult beginners are common and completely unremarkable. Plenty of people reach thirty, forty or sixty without ever having been taught, usually because there was no opportunity as a child.
The work starts with breathing and buoyancy, because adult beginners are rarely short of strength — they are short of comfort. Once the panic response is gone, the stroke follows quickly.
If you are coming back
Swimmers who trained as teenagers and stopped for twenty years usually still have the motor pattern. What has changed is shoulder mobility, body composition and the amount of tension carried in the water.
That is a recalibration job rather than a rebuild, and it tends to move fast.
If you are training for something
Masters swimmers chasing a time and triathletes trying to get out of the water with their legs intact are both efficiency problems. Both usually gain more from removing drag than from adding training volume.
Sighting, pacing, bilateral breathing and swimming in a wetsuit's altered body position are all covered where they are relevant to your event.
When adults swim
Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8:00 PM, and Saturday at 9:00 AM, at Newtonbrook Secondary School in North York. Late enough on weekdays to be reachable after work.
Lessons are booked as monthly blocks of 4, 8 or 12 sessions, so you can pick a commitment that survives a real schedule.

FAQ
Questions.
Yes. Adults are coached across every level — complete beginners who never learned as children, swimmers returning after years away, masters swimmers chasing times, and triathletes who need an efficient freestyle. Adult coaching is weighted toward technique and efficiency rather than drills designed for children.
See Adult & Masters →That is normal and it is not a problem. The first time in the water is an assessment: the coach looks at comfort, breathing, body position and stroke, then recommends the right program. You do not need to self-diagnose before getting in touch.
Start booking →Prices across Toronto vary widely between municipal programs, private clubs and one-to-one coaching. At Double Time Swim Club in North York the published rates are $225 for 4 lessons a month, $325 for 8 and $425 for 12, or $500 for once a week, $750 for twice a week and $1000 for three times a week for a 2.5-month season package, plus $75–$100 an hour for a private one-to-one lesson. Prices exclude HST. A second sibling receives 5% off, a third 10%, and new referrals 15% for that semester.
See full pricing →Once a week keeps a swimmer moving forward steadily. Twice a week is the point at which technical corrections start to hold between sessions instead of resetting, and it is what most swimmers working on stroke changes should aim for. Three times a week suits swimmers training toward competition or working to a deadline.

See the schedule →Yes — lessons are sold as monthly blocks of 4, 8 or 12 rather than one lesson at a time, matching training once, twice or three times a week, and larger blocks cost less per lesson. There is also a 2.5-month season package paid as one total, which costs less per month again, and private one-to-one hours booked separately.
